A Hungarian town situated on the River Tisza, in the central part of the country. It has about 11 thousand inhabitants.
Among medium-sized and small businesses producers of cognacs and wines are distinguished, for the warm climate of the country is conducive to the cultivation of vines and fruit. The great attraction of the city are pools of naturally hot and healing water, that attracts many foreign tourists. Among the artistic ensembles, the amateur male choir and girls ballet group stand out.
The first meeting of the representatives of both cities were organized on the occasion of the visit of the delegation of the Educational House at the Special School and Educational Centre. As a result of good cooperation between the educational houses in Homok and Mielec, as well as cultural exchange on 11 August 2006, a partnership agreement sealed the relations between the cities.
