Rzemień (11 km) – medieval castle with ramparts and a defensive-residential tower (14th/15th C.) established among inaccessible marshes and forests on the island of the backwaters. The Lubomirscy princes in the first half of the 17th century expanded the former Tarnowski castle into a strong fortification, and lined the defensive walls and ramparts with 40 cannons (in Poland at the time there were just over 600 cannons). In the northern part of the historic park, another historic building in Rzemień will surprise tourists – a palace built by the Szaszkiewicz family. Currently, there is no possibility of visiting the interiors of the ducal castle and palace – the historic monuments can be viewed only from the outside.
