Saint-Martin-des-Champs (France)

A city in north-western France, Finistère department (Brittany), on a small river, which flows into the bay of Morlaix.
It was established in the 19th century, mainly due to the development of the railway. Currently, the town is intersected by: TGV railway line, expressway and national road. Also, the river is used for communication, both for commercial and recreational activities. The city has about 5000 inhabitants. They conduct industrial, craft, agricultural and commercial activities. The city participates in the campaign of the Office of Breton Language, which promotes the Breton language in the everyday life of the population, because there was a danger of its complete disappearance. For many years, together with Morlaix and other surrounding municipalities, it maintained contacts with Mielec, mostly of a sporting nature. This cooperation was officially ratified on 29 May 2011 in Mielec by signing a twin city agreement.
