Mielec a city of deep industrial traditions

Our region is considered the cradle of the aviation industry. Thanks to the construction in the 1930s of the Central Industrial District, an aviation factory was established in Mielec – the centre of the aviation industry in Poland. The growing factory meant that thousands of aviation enthusiasts, talented designers, and engineers came here. In those days, Mielec was one of the fastest developing cities in Poland. The process of bringing in professionals and educated people made the small town of Mielec become one of the largest industrial centres in south-east Poland. Mielec is one of the leaders of the aviation industry in Poland today. It is our region that focuses 90% of the national aviation production. The diversity of industries that is represented by companies that have invested in Mielec shows that companies from other sectors are keen to invest in our city.
